School Council

Vincent Massey operates on a philosophy that parents form an integral part of the partnership in the education of their children. In order for our School Council to be truly effective, we need a good representation of parents at our meetings.

The mandate of the Council is:

  • to serve as a liaison between the parents and the school;
  • to create a sense of community and a spirit of co-operation between teachers, students and parents;
  • to recommend, assist and participate in various educational activities of the school and the school community;
  • to sponsor fund-raising projects, as the need arises;
  • to act as a vehicle for the discussion of general community concerns, and taking such action as is deemed necessary;
  • to encourage volunteer help at school functions, and in the classroom, as required.

Meetings are only once a month usually on the third Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. and your participation is needed and valued. See the calendar page of our website for dates of meetings. All parents/guardians are welcome, and encouraged to attend.  Please call the school for more information.
